Pretty good day. I guess I do have to go up to the register at Panera to get my scone in a timely fashion - waited fifteen minutes after ordering one at the kiosk. Strength training seems to be making a difference after a week, feel better. Wrist isn't an issue at the weights I'm moving.

Oof what a busy morning! Mostly getting my computers set up for my planned workloads. Need to pick up a copy of Titanic in 3D I bought off eBay then back home to continue converting flood to use unreal engine.

Almost went keyboard shopping but I didn't think about my Logi Wave keyboard. It can pair to three devices but I was only using two. So now, at my bedroom workstation, if I'm working in Blender, I can grab my Wave keyboard and use all the keyboard shortcuts. Toot sweet.

Feeling pretty good today, especially so because my new chair is super comfy, good back support and even a head rest. Was very productive yesterday, got my website converted to django and published. I like python! I had some trouble disengaging from my normal curly braced programming languages but now I feel pretty good using python.

Had a pretty good morning so far. Picked up some toffee peanuts, went to panera and got my free drink and a bonus free muffin, got some diffuser oil for stinking up my room. There was a tobacco scented option but I went with the Bergamot. Today I need to make progress on getting my cartooning pipeline set up. More about exploration than anything. I'm going to mostly be doing pencils and inks on paper, I think, and then clean and flats in Photoshop, and hopefully coloring on one of my tablets - either the Tab S7 or the iPad Mini. Just writing it out helps make it more real already.

Well, I accepted that I would eventually get a good card for my workstation, and now that the office is clean and clear for, y'know, working, I have did it. Sold my minilogue and took some money out of the till and got a 5060TI. That's in the workstation, and the 3060 is in the portastation.

Nope, didn't take. Swapped the widescreen monitor into the office with the 3060 card. The 1070 is now at the walking pad station. This seems like the best configuration, for now. If I ever have any money things'll get upgraded but for now I have what I need, configured as I need it.

I'm feeling better. When I was depressed, I didn't want to ingest entertainment or knowledge, I was stagnant. Now that I'm feeling better I'm able to enjoy things ever so slightly and it makes a huge difference.

Had a pretty productive day today. Still have to go through old tech and prep it for recycling, and lots of it, but my office is now usable. Right now I don't NEED anything. I have some really good stuff, and some not as good stuff, but my needs are covered by the really good stuff. Things that I could use: new 43" TV to replace my old really heavy 43" TV, a 3060 card for my office workstation, a new chair for the office. I guess part of the reason my office was being used as storage was because all the old stuff was in that room! Anyways, some rice and sausage and french fries then off to bed. Tomorrow's tomorrow.

I'm a bit disappointed that Robin Kelly and Kat Abu didn't win, but I'm sure Stratton and Biss will do a good enough job. I've got a couple of things coming from amazon (snare stand, hat, melodica) that I'm excited to fit into my home workshop.

Alright, going to do a card swap. My 1070 is going into my desktop workstation and my 3060 is going into my eGPU box next to my walking pad. That makes two computers better - my legion go and my HP lappy, while making one computer worse. But really, the desktop is mostly just a place to store Steam games nowadays so I can install from a local machine on other devices.

Pretty good game night tonight! We played Carcassone and For Sale. I got whooped at Carcassone twice but won a game of For Sale. I've only played it once more than Karl but I seem to have that one figured out. Overall a very fulfilling day.

Overall, things have been pretty productive this past week. I've broken out my blog to its own subdomain and set it up using python/django, I got my hiscores api up and running using python and rest, I've updated flood to work against the new api but haven't published yet. Lots done! I think I've earned my Python t-shirt, even if I'm still only a learner.

Alright, the rest api was a bit of overkill. Going to write my hiscores api for flood using FastAPI. Which means I need to RTFM for FastAPI. There's no rush, things are stable right now, this would be a nice to have. I do things slower nowadays, but better generally.

Alright time for a nap and then figuring out how to build a really simple hiscore api for flood, using python. And then phase two which is going to take a while - getting flood converted to Unreal Engine. And of course music and cartoons.

It occurred to me that me sitting at the coffee shop as an old man listening to music from the turn of the century isn't that different than me sitting in the Rock and Roll McDonald's in the 80s listening to 50s and 60s hits. But maybe the people of today have a different relationship with the music of the past than we did back then.

I was totally unaware that last night was Daylight Savings Time. Missed my morning coffee with Brian. Did however make it to mom's for breakfast, took a nice if strenuous nap, and read a little further in the graph theory book. Excited for tomorrow, there was some kind of giant sized Kindle at the pawn shop but I didn't inspect it very closely. But I will do so tomorrow when they're open, may be just the thing I was looking for.

Alright, my Surface Pro 11 can run python very well, and it can compile windows apps, and I can write terminal apps in C++ and run them. For a minute there I was thinking about getting a Surface Go i3 but I don't need one a lot. I've got everything I need already.

Up until this year I've not seen many cases of people having reliability issues with their phones. But now, people seem to have issues with their phones not working on a hardware level! Drops, sure, but hardware faults? I wonder if this has anything to do with phone manufacturers constantly chasing the country of least labor expense.

I've been noodling on my violin and I'm getting better! Not good enough to record yet but things are coming back to me. Been mostly playing New Order melodies. Just have to keep working at it.

Alright, my first next step is to use what I've learned today to get my hiscore API running for "Flood Returns". In terms of new equipment I don't think I really need anything : I've got a 5070TI, a 3060, and my work laptop has a 5060. In terms of actually needing another graphics card for my walking-working station it would be hard to justify right now.

We played "For Sale". The bags were useless, too hard to see how many coins were in them. But the game was fun! Then we played "Cockroach Poker". That was also fun. It's nice to have a game night where it's just card games. Cats didn't get into trouble!

Not much going on right now. It's gaming night! We're playing only card based games so the cats don't get in trouble. I've got coin pouches for "For Sale" I'm excited to try them out! Probably going to stop at Starbuck for a coffee and a bit of reading on my way to Ernest's.
